Located conveniently near the Ocean Vista business center, this family-owned gem offers not just meals but a rich flavor journey reminiscent of vibrant Tijuana streets. The atmosphere mirrors a classic neighborhood spot, the kind that locals cherish, much like one finds pizza joints scattered across New York neighborhoods.
What truly sets San Luis apart is its generosity—generous portions that challenge expectations and satisfy hearty appetites. The iconic "Surf and Turf California Burrito" is nothing short of legendary, often described as a “monster truck” of a burrito, packed so densely it feeds multiple meals or an entire family. The carne asada fries deserve a special mention. Laden with meat, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and fresh salsa, they transform a simple dish into a fully loaded feast that can easily feed a crowd. The balance of flavors, from smoky carne asada to creamy guacamole, paints a texture and taste profile that lingers warmly on the palate.
San Luis excels beyond just hefty portions. Its menu showcases variety and boldness, like the spicy camarones a la diabla that ignite the senses with fiery zest, complemented perfectly by an array of house-made salsas and pickled accompaniments. These touches elevate each plate, weaving together traditional Mexican culinary roots with personal, family-owned finesse.
While the prices reflect the generous serving sizes, the customer experience balances out the value. Friendly service and a welcoming ambiance create a space where community and culture intertwine. Whether stopping by for quick tacos or indulging in a sprawling burrito, the consistency in quality and authenticity shines through every bite.

“ This is a classic neighborhood Mexican spot. Similar to how every neighborhood in NYC and Long Island has a pizza spot, in SoCal, you can find places like this every other block. That’s not a bad thing, it’s a great thing! This restaurant fits solidly into the “local Mexican spot” category. And for that category, it is very good and above average. The food is fresh, authentic, generously portioned, and fast. I would not drive across the county to eat here, but if you are looking for a cheap local Mexican food spot in the area, this is as good as it gets. Also, the tacos are HUGE. One taco is around $7, which might seem pricey, but they are truly massive. You can order “mini” TJ styles tacos if you want smaller ones. Two of the full-size carne asada tacos will most definitely fill you up. ”
“ First off, Let me start by saying thank you San Luis for such a wonderful experience! Taste was great and portion was not what I was expecting…. That being said, I didn’t know I was adopting a baby. Does anyone recommend good parenting books cuz idk how I’m going to care for this thing Baby in question “Surf and Turf California Burrito” ”
“ Carne Asada Fries were good Fully Loaded, Fries, Meat, Cheese, Guacamole, Sour Cream Salsa Good stop when you are hungry. Portions are very big. Asada Fries alone fed 3-4 people... Yum, leaving full. ¡¡ Thank you San Luis !! Weekdays open til 9pm Weekends open til 10pm ”
“ There is only one burrote I get from there, and it is the "California surf and turf". This infant size and weight burrito is just the thing for an emergency family of 4 dinner, just need some extra tortillas. This can also feed a hungry man for 2 days, if that is all he eats for 2 days straight. Took me 3 work lunches and brakes to put the massive (almost $30) overstuffed can't fit into one giant tortilla burrito. It is well worth the price, I stuffed my face... So delicious. ”
“ I need to talk about the burrito my little sister got. She asked for a surf and turf california burrito (with chipotle sauce) and was handed this absolute monster truck of a burrito. It was literally the size of a newborn baby. It was a masterpiece; immaculately wrapped and had a perfect distribution of burrito insides… a work of art. A dude picking up his food had to stop and ask about it. He took his sunglasses off lol. This is a 10/10 place. My husband and I get the carne asada fries every time. Theyre the best here. We were away from home for a while, and the first time we tried this place we actually cried bc it was so good. This is the spot. ”
